Rossa Kitchen (Journal Canteen)

Journal Canteen AKA Rossa's Kitchen, you call it whatever you want, this place rocks to the core.
This little eatery/canteen has a small dedicated staff and menu. The menu is written on chalkboards displayed prominently around the eatery. A word of advice though even though it is a "canteen", food is not cheap, lunches are at $20 each, there was a pasta dish (that we both ordered), chicken arrabiata and a meat dish.

As I have already mentioned earlier, we both ordered the pasta, the pasta that day was the most delicious ox-tail ragu. The ox-tail ragu was really delicious, the ox tail, with its gelatinous and slightly fatty texture stands head and shoulders above you minced meat ragu. IT was exhilarating! I am inspired to make this at home! This rich ragu was accompanied with pasta that was cooked al-dente. We were also given complimentary bread, and a refreshing salad of iceberg lettuce and shaved fennel.

Home Brewed Expresso

To cap this already incredible meal, we also got a complimentary stove brewed espresso. What an outstanding way to cap of an already incredible meal.
