Crue

Crue is a small and imaginative cafe situated on the busy end of Toorak road. It seems that the cafe is gaining reputation for their coffees, when you come to Crue, you are talking of your single origins, synesso they even got cofee degustation here! But as always, the focus is on the food.

CRUE

Mushroom and Goat Cheese Omelette ($12)

I enjoyed this dish-it was simple and tasty. The mushroom and goat cheese omelette was immaculately cooked. The rocket salad added a bit of body.

Goats Cheese and Macadamia Tortellini ($14)

This dish is a difficult one, I really enjoyed the tortellini, the fillings of goats cheese and macadamia nuts were wonderful. However, I did not really like the "red pepper sauce" that went with it. The fact that that it was served in a bowl like that, made things worse, it was almost as if the tortellini was drowning in the sauce. In addition, the portion was kinda small, especially you are you are a big eater. To be fair, they do have a main size of the goats cheese tortellini, but at $20, ouch!

Food for thought: Crue does express lunch special of two courses with a glass of wine for $20.
