Pacific Seafood and BBQ House

Pacific seafood and BBQ house has to be one of my favourite Chinese restaurant in Melbourne. Colourful display of daily specials decorate the walls of this modest restaurant, the display window showcases their house specialty, glistening roast meat that is impossible to resist.

The food that comes out of the kitchen is stellar. Juicy golden prawns are coated with salted duck eggs and sauteed,roast pork/ducks are roasted to perfection, and the most tender deer/ crocodile meat are tossed with fresh french beans and X.O. sauce. Seafood are also taken live from the tank, weighed and then cooked to your liking.

As much as i would like to gobble down everything down, there was only a couple of us that day, so we ordered from the lunch menu.

We ordered one roast pork on rice and one BBQ pork on rice.

Roast Pork on Rice ($9.50)

The dish came with Pok Choy and a bit of gravy on the rice. The roast pork at Pacific House was simply divine. It has to be the one the best, if not the best roast pork in Melbourne. The "three layers", which consisted of the crispy skin, fatty but flavourful fat and the moist pork meat is really out of this world. Add to that, the house's chilli oil, Yummy!

BBQ Pork on Rice ($9.50)

This dish also came with pok choy and gravy. What can i say, another stellar dish. The pork was moist,tender and full of flavours, very very good.

Food for thought: The menu at Pacific House is huge, so do expect some dishes to be mediocre.
In addition, the service at Pacific House, like many Chinese restaurants in Melbourne, can be rushed and informal. So do expect yourself to be shoved with the bill right after you finish your meal. (especially so if there is a line waiting for a table) If you are able to tolerate the often, bad service, you should be in with a treat.
